Greetings,
My name is Aahz and I’ve been collecting these souvenir tokens since the late 1980s. They make an interesting collectible item because although nearly everyone has seen (or even owned) one at some time few people, including collectors and dealers, have any idea what to call them: metal typers, standard typer tokens, self punch medals, teletags, metal stampers, etc. Me? I just call them cool.
This site was created for three distinct purposes:
- Showcase my collection of tokens for others to see.
- Collect and share as much information about these machines as possible.
- A bit of social experimentation to see if people who made (and lost) any of these medallions happens by and are willing to comment on the where, when and why they created these little keepsakes in the first place.
