Current Metal Typer Locations-

  • Winchester Mystery House, San Jose, CA - In gift shop, near cafe. Price: $0.50 Has custom tokens in various colors. Last seen: March 18, 2008
  • Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Santa Cruz, California. In Neptune’s Kingdom, near door to street. Price $1.00 Has generic silver tokens. Last seen: December 31, 2007

Former Metal Typer Locations-

  • The Pike, Long Beach, California. Two machines. Price: $0.25. No info on type of medallions. Closed in 1979. Machines were offered for sale on eBay in March 2008.
  • Golden Gate International Exposition, Treasure Island, San Francisco, California. 1939-1940 We have zero details on this machine or machines. We know it existed as we have seen a medallion from this world’s fair event.
  • Sesquicentennial International Exposition, League Island Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 1926 We have zero details on this machine or machines. We know it existed as we own a medallion from this world’s fair event.

Unknown Status Metal Typer Locations-

  • Natural History Museum, Chicago, Illinois. We have zero details on this machine or machines. We know it existed as we have seen a medallion from this location.
  • Buckhorn Museum, San Antonio, Texas. We have zero details on this machine or machines. We know it existed as we own a medallion from this location.
  • Weirs Beach, New Hampshire. See my Weirs Beach post for why I believe there was a machine there in the 1950s.

  1. There was once a metal typer at the Plaza Roller Rink in Virginia Beach, VA when I was a 7 tear old kid in 1981. It’s final resting place is unknown.
